An excellent analysis delivered in a confusing report has the same practical impact as no analysis at all. Reporting is where research either becomes a decision or gets shelved.
Lead with the answer
Stakeholders don't need the methodology first — they need to know what you found and what it means for the decision in front of them. The detail can follow, but it shouldn't come first.
Match the format to the audience
Preparing detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders and senior researchers means recognizing they're not the same audience: one wants rigor and detail, the other wants clarity and a recommendation.
Visuals earn their place
A chart should replace a paragraph of numbers, not decorate one. This is the thinking behind how I approach data visualization and reporting more broadly.
